The woman was arrested after trying to sneak in to a church. Police say they believe the thieves entered the apartment while. In fact, Internet is the centerpiece of new era of information revolution that is reshaping our view of culture and, as a new.
A new study suggests that college students and even adults can keep smartphones, laptop tablets and other devices attached to them at all times, not just for emergencies.
And so although people often put up with wrist or neck strain, back pain, and sore thumbs when typing on a smartphone or tablet, the majority can be expected to stay mobile in today’s connected world as long as they have the tools and the will to do so.
All of which makes the world of mobile computing look much more flexible and consumer-driven than the rigid linear architectures its predecessors used, says Doug Schmidt, co-founder of End to End Mobile, the company behind the study, which was conducted for a wireless carrier. In the past, email was a standalone communication method, for example, with only a phone or desktop computer to share it.
From digital video to social networking, however, mobile devices are suddenly tied to so many other uses that workers can no longer be fully productive from one without neglecting others.
That dynamic not only presents challenges for Microsoft (MSFT), which has looked to cloud computing and mobile to extend its reach into business but also for information workers more generally, who are now moving in and out of roles and applications at a far quicker clip.
This has led to a place where even professional employees, even those at companies with a complete mobile enterprise strategy, have trouble communicating efficiently with one another in a time-constrained environment, said Joe McKendrick, executive director at the University of Texas's Center for Emerging Media. “The role of phones in a work day is more prevalent than people realize,” he said.
Devices designed for compactness and portability now can be put to their best use in the office, whether it is adding to collaboration and managing productivity tools that the smartphone offers and that were initially just for the office, or even for the home where they can help people and kids do homework or keep up with important emails.
Mobile computers, it turns out, are an everyday part of life, the report suggested. One in four people surveyed said they’d had a mobile device attached to them at some point in the past month, and 80 percent said it was on 0b46394aab
